Ladies - Sports are year around. First comes football season, shortly after and during is basketball season, then soccer, and baseball. To make matters worse, there is college sports and professional sports. March Madness seems to be one of the biggest events of the year. It's the college basketball playoffs and things get pretty intense. If you are not a sport's fan, you hate this time of the year. Instead of dreading it and resenting your boyfriend, here are a few tips that will help you pass the time:
SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS
You know this time of the year is coming, so plan a trip with your friends and hang out. Sometimes we tend to forget we have friends when we enter a relationship. Catch up on old times at a favorite eatery or go dancing at a club. Go see that chick flick you have been trying to drag your boyfriend to go see. Chances are, your friends are going through the dame "March Madness Blues" as you are. Tough it out together over drinks.
CONTRIBUTING TO THE PARTY
If you want to score big points with your boyfriend/hubby, prepare snacks for him and his friends. Supply his favorite beer and cook snack foods/order buffalo wings for him and his friends. Take the rest of the day/night and treat yourself to a spa, draw a bubble bath, and curl up on the sofa with a nice book or watch your favorite shows that have bennTiVo'd for the past few months that you forgot to get around to.
SHOP TILL YOU DROP!
Shopping always does the trick! Go to the mall and take the frustration out on your credit card. You will so much better. If you can afford that is. Treat yourself to those pair of jeans or Vicotria's Secret. You will get some serious "ME TIME" and a few nice things to pass the time.
Don't make yourself miserable or make your boyfriend feel bad for this addiction that most men suffer from. Look on the bright side, at least you know where he is; with 20 other guys yelling, arguing, and cheering amongst themselves and at the TV. As women, we have to accept that this is just one of the few things we have to live with. You don't have to love it, just don't despise it. They have sports and we have the chick flicks that come out year around.
